Substitute Aides

Individuals hired for Substitute Aide positions would be responsible for filling in for regualr staff members who are absent. Sub aides may be utilized at the elementary level schools in monitoring students in the cafeteria and the overseeing their activities out in the playground at recess. Some aides assist the Librarian in the school library. Some of our substitute aides may be asked to support a special education student as a Personal Care Assistant. A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) works with a special education student who has a Individualized Education Plan (IEP) that has been developed by the profesional staff who are part of the IEP Team. The IEP is a blueprint as to how the various staff members coming in contact with the special education student can assist the student in being successful given any limitations the student migh possess. The IEP provides the Personal Care Assistant with information as to how to support the student during the school day. Substitute Aides and Substitute PCAs are frequently considered for regular position assignments as they become avialble.
