The Emergency Department at Wilson Health has received national recognition for exceptionally quick treat release times for patients. Job Summary: The Emergency Department Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)/Patient Care Technician (PCT) prepares and compiles records in nursing unit of hospital facility and provides essential patient care under direction of Registered Nurse. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Responsible for the computer entry of patient information/registration and physician orders to ensure continuity of care. * Assist with the coordination of activities of the unit and ensures the necessary supplies are available to provide patient care. * Assure opens and timely communication with the patient, their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of therapeutic interventions. * Under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his/her assigned unit. The patient population would include: the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient. * Under the direction of the RN/LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures. * The HUC/PCT shall provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.
