Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical Dialysis Tech experience License: Current dialysis clinical technician licensure Certifications: Dialysis clinical technician certification required Must-Have: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Experience with Time record system and Fresenius machines preferred but not required Previous travel experience preferred but not required Description: Under the supervision of nursing staff, the Clinical Technician is responsible for monitoring and providing direct care of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Monitors patients on an ongoing basis and communicates pertinent information to the appropriate team members. Works as a member of the interdisciplinary team caring for the dialysis patient. Responds in emergency situations. Reinforces education to patients regarding their treatment. Documents patient care and observations accurately. Follows operational activities specific to the assigned unit. Treats patients and families with respect and dignity. Reports to work in designated attire, maintaining proper hygiene. Communicates with other departments and service organizations as needed. Functions as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrates the ability to plan work activities effectively. Carries out doctors' orders within the parameters of the role. Follows infection control policies and procedures diligently. Helps minimize waste in the assigned unit. In conjunction with team members, monitors and adjusts dialysis therapy within the scope of practice. Serves as a resource referral for the patient. Demonstrates problem-solving methodologies beneficial to patients and the patient care area. Maintains a neat and safe work area. Demonstrates technical and task-oriented skills, including cannulation and machine setups. Administers normal saline solution, 2% xylocaine, and anticoagulants as ordered by the physician under nursing supervision. Performs necessary blood drawing procedures. May be required to take on-call in acute settings. Demonstrates customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively. Possesses personal qualities such as being self-directed, flexible, and committed to teamwork. Demonstrates a caring and compassionate manner toward patients and their family members. Completes all required assigned in-services and online education. Acts in a manner demonstrating commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
