If you enjoy working with people, staying busy, and being part of a team that makes a difference in patients' lives, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.Location: Shelbyville, INWage: $16.00-$18.00 (wage will depends on knowledge, skills, and experience)What Does an Optometric Technician Do:Our technicians play an important role in patient care. You will work closely with doctors and patients to help ensure each visit runs smoothly and that doctors have the information they need to provide excellent care.In this role you willCollect important patient information and historiesPerform preliminary and ancillary eye testingPrepare patients for their eye examsAssist doctors during proceduresHelp create a positive and welcoming patient experienceWhat We Offer:We believe in supporting our team both personally and professionally6.5 paid holidays each yearApproximately 10 days of PTO within your first yearFull benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401kOpportunities for growth and wage increases through our company paid certification programEssential Responsibilities:Prepare patients for eye examinations by explaining the features and benefits of our preliminary testing proceduresPerform preliminary and doctor requested tests on patientsAssist optometrists and ophthalmologists during patient proceduresCoordinate patient scheduling and help maintain smooth patient flow throughout the office while communicating delays when neededPrepare exam rooms by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and suppliesHelp maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for both patients and staffPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the office manager, team lead, or doctorsPhysical Demand:This position requiresStanding for extended periods of timeStooping, grasping, lifting, talking, and hearingPhysical requirements includeLight workAbility to regularly lift up to 15 pounds from floor to waistAbility to lift 5 pounds from waist to shoulderAbility to lift 5 pounds from shoulder to overheadVisual acuity to ensure accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness in assigned workStart a career where you can learn, grow, and make a difference every day.
