Dental Hygienist

Dental Hygienist Job Description Under the professional direction of a Dentist and the administrative supervision of the Oral Health Director, this position is responsible for performing all aspects of dental hygiene practice. This includes dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, oral screenings, topical fluoride applications, taking radiographs, and providing dental health education on an individual or group basis as directed by established policies and procedures. Responsibilities * Take radiographic exposures and enter them into the software program. * Perform a complete oral prophylaxis, which involves removing calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from the surface of teeth, as well as deep periodontal scaling and root planing. * Record and report clinical services provided and findings made during the practice of dental hygiene for the supervising dentist to review. * Provide preventive measures such as sealants and topical applications of fluorides and other agents for the prevention of oral disease. * Administer oral systemic pre-medications and subgingival sustained-release chemotherapeutic agents to patients, as delegated by the dentist. * Take patient blood pressure prior to administering anesthesia, per state statutes and administrative code. * Provide instructions in oral hygiene and plaque control procedures, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition as related to dental disease, on a one-to-one or group session basis. * Develop and present dental health education materials and programs. * Maintain a recall system for routine hygiene patients and those with chronic medical conditions. * Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills * Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program. * Licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin, free of restrictions, and maintain licensure. * Certified in Dental Anesthesia. * Maintain BLS certification. Work Environment Hygienists have the flexibility to choose their own schedules, with fulltime & part-time options available! The clinic operates Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Oshkosh, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $63772.80 - $95638.40/yr. 401K medical dental Vacation/PTO Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Oshkosh,WI.
