A desire and ability to work with students is essential in this position.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GEDMust complete SafeSchools training within 2 weeks of hireMust pass a background checkRegular and punctual attendancePrevious experience working with students preferredESSENTIAL DUTIES:Maintain safety of students and act as a positive role model.Know and follow health, safety, and emergency procedures of the district.Communicate successfully with staff, students, and parents.Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality and minimal absences.Practice ethical and professional standards of conduct, including the requirements of confidentiality.Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas.Follow all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.Perform any other related duties as assigned.*Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
