Unfortunately, due to the number of applications received, not all applicants will receive an interview.All district employees are encouraged to review their personnel file periodically to ensure that their file includes current and relevant documentation that supports their education, experience, training, etc., as it relates to qualifications described on job postings.Position Title: Playground / Cafeteria Monitor (temporary)Location: Kalama Elementary School, Kalama, WashingtonDates: ASAP - June 12, 2026Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:25am - 12:25pm dailySalary: $20.39 - $25.26 per hour DOEBenefits: This position is not eligible for health or retirement benefitsDESCRIPTION:Under the direction and supervision of the building principal, the Playground/Cafeteria Monitor performs tasks related to the monitoring and supervising of students on campus during school hours. A desire and ability to work with students is essential in this position.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GEDMust complete SafeSchools training within 2 weeks of hireMust pass a background checkRegular and punctual attendancePrevious experience working with students preferredESSENTIAL DUTIES:Maintain safety of students and act as a positive role model.Know and follow health, safety, and emergency procedures of the district.Communicate successfully with staff, students, and parents.Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality and minimal absences.Practice ethical and professional standards of conduct, including the requirements of confidentiality.Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas.Follow all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.Perform any other related duties as assigned.*Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
