Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - ECMO Specialist | Travel ContractLocation: Minneapolis, MN 55407-3723Duration: 13 WeeksShift: Night Shift - 3x12 Hours (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)Schedule: Every other weekend requiredBlock Scheduling: Not guaranteed (may be discussed with manager)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - ECMO Specialist to support a high-acuity, adult critical care environment. This role requires hands-on experience managing ECMO systems and delivering advanced respiratory care to critically ill patients.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and manage ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) systemsProvide advanced respiratory care in adult critical care settingsPerform airway management including intubation assist, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy careAdminister respiratory medications using various delivery systemsManage oxygen therapy including HFNC, trach collar, and ventilator supportMonitor and manage patients with complex conditions such as ARDS, pneumonia, COVID, and post-bronchoscopy carePerform arterial punctures and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)Troubleshoot ventilators and assist in weaning from mechanical ventilationSupport interdepartmental and transport ventilation needsMaintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records (Excellian/Epic)Float to other units as needed based on competencyRequirementsActive RRT certification and state license (must be active by start date)Minimum 2 years of RRT experienceMinimum 1 year of ECMO Specialist experience (required)Adult critical care experience requiredArterial puncture experience requiredCertifications Required:BLS (Basic Life Support)ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)RRT CredentialClinical Skills RequiredECMO management and protocol-driven careAirway management: ET tube, tracheostomy, suctioning, extubationVentilator management: BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, troubleshooting alarms, ventilator weaningOxygen therapy: HFNC, trach collar, T-piece, portable oxygenNebulizer systems: cold, heated, ultrasonic, hand-held, trach collarMedication administration: bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, nitric oxide, and other respiratory therapiesPulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collectionABG interpretation and chest physiotherapyAdditional DetailsOccasional rotation to day shift (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) as neededOn-call required as neededWeekend requirement: Every other weekendFirst-time travelers accepted (with required ECMO experience)Local candidates acceptedFacility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignmentFloating required based on unit needsFor more details reach at sthakur@ or Call / Text at 732 791 4807 - EXT 4807.About Navitas Healthcare, LLC: It is a certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical, Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
