This position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing education through classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction. This contract-based position emphasizes teaching excellence and service, with limited research responsibilities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to): Essential duties: Teaching and Instruction * Provide high-quality, student-centered instruction to the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, encompassing classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning environments. * Collaborate with faculty to design, implement, and evaluate nursing curricula and learning experiences. * Develop course syllabi, exams, assignments, and instructional materials, including digital and audiovisual content. * Assess student performance through grading, feedback, and competency evaluations. * Provide academic advisement and schedule conferences to discuss their progress and support student success. * Oversee students in clinical environments to ensure safe patient care and foster clinical decision-making skills. Service and Administration * Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning, and selection of course materials. * Serve on departmental, school, or university committees as assigned. * Partner with faculty, staff, and clinical site personnel to maintain a cohesive and supportive learning environment. * Promote a culture of equity, inclusion, and academic freedom, fostering a welcoming environment for all students and colleagues. Secondary Responsibilities: * Develop and deliver continuing education programs. * Promote interprofessional education and collaborative learning experiences. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned or directed to support departmental needs and align with the mission of the School of Nursing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required): Required: * Master's degree in Nursing (MSN). * Active RN license and eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania. * Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse. Preferred: * Doctoral degree (DNP or PhD). * Experience in clinical nursing education. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL HOURS: * Evening teaching assignments may be required. * This position requires a commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student success.
