SURGICAL TECHNICIAN - STERILE PROCESSING Department: Sterile Processing Schedule: 40 hours per week, Afternoon Shift, 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Rotating weekends and holidays Hospital: Henry Ford St John Hospital Location: Detroit, MI GENERAL SUMMARY: * Performs a variety of duties in surgical services to maintain a well-supplied, sterile environment. * Performs terminal cleaning of each operating room daily, including thorough decontamination of furniture, equipment and air vents. * Transports case carts, equipment and supplies and disposes of hazardous waste according to policies and procedures. * Monitors and maintains supply inventories at an appropriate par level. * Provides physical assistance for patient positioning, lifting and, moving as directed by clinical nursing staff. REQUIREMENTS: * High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. * Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. * Completion of a sterile processing program preferred.
