Instructional Job Number 4600319289 Start Date Open Date 03/19/2026 Closing Date 05/19/2026 Summary:Within the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools' Office of School Options and Innovation, the Department of Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides project-based, career-focused learning to accelerate students along the path to success in college and careers. Learning is both classroom and work based with all high school programs of study articulating to industry credentials, 2 year degrees and/or 4 year degrees. CTE also supports the work of our middle and early colleges where students simultaneously pursue a high school diploma and an Associate's Degree and/or up to two years of transferrable college credit. CTE is present in every CMS middle and high school and serves over 48,000 students. Essential Responsibilities for Assigned School:Pathway Responsibilities:Understand all elements of CTE Career Pathways and assists with implementation as aligned to the district visionCollaborate with counselors & teachers regarding promoting pathways to feeder middle schoolsCommunicate with central office regarding student alignment to pathwaysCollaborate with building administration and CTE central office to build strategy for increasing the number of CTE concentratorsCollaborate and support throughout master schedule process to insure students are scheduled in the correct next course in the pathway sequencePromotes, maintains, and tracks student credentials (certifications) in all CTE program areas.Identify and compile CTE concentrator dataTesting Responsibilities:Acts as the Building Level Coordinator for all CTE Assessments, to include State Assessments, Local Courses, Project Lead the Way, and teacher made assessments.Knowledge and ability to explain the information within the most current CTE Status of Curriculum and Assessment document, Essential Standards document, CTE State Assessments guides, and State Testing Code of Ethics.Provides technical assistance and support for teachers in understanding and implementing the CTE computerized instructional management system (NCCTE Admin).Performs all ACT Workkeys responsibilities ordering testing materials, knowledge of ACT Workkeys guidelines/procedures, training classroom administrators, scheduling testing sessions, monitors testing to ensure all students are tested based on ACT guidelines, returning all materials within the appropriate window, and accessing final student score information and providing to students.Collaborates with CTE Instructional Facilitator along with school EC and EL departments to ensure students receive the proper plan of study and assessments per state guidelines.Data & Technology Management Responsibilities:Perform ongoing enrollment verifications, data corrections, and data audits for all CTE, including NAF and PLTWProvides technology management for all CTE hardware and softwareCollaborate with school-based Technology Facilitator to resolve issues locally Monitors resolution of technology issues through Cherwell Support that cannot be resolved locallyEnsure technology equipment resides in room to which it has been namedCollaborate with CTE central office technology support for any necessary equipment movesUnderstands and maintains inventory of all CTE technology in each CTE classroomSupport new CTE teachers in leveraging software and technology including but not limited to Canvas, SchoolNet and PowerTeacherCollaborates with CTE School Support Team to ensure all CTE teachers and students are successful.Performs related duties as assigned Education and Experience:MinimumBS Degree and current license in any CTE program area or a BS Degree and current license in Curriculum Development or Instructional TechnologyFive years of work experience within the past eight years in one of the following three areas:classroom teacher in a CTE program areaprofessional support in an educational setting:Career Development CoordinatorSpecial Populations CoordinatorCurriculum Specialist 3. Instructional Technology SpecialistLicensing / Certification Requirements:Eligible for CTE 830 Instructional Management Coordinator (per state release July of current year)Current CTE license or current license in Curriculum Instructional Specialist OR Instructional Technology Specialist - computers or telecommunications.Clearing Specific requirements: Provisional License must be added by the LEA during first year of hireInduction - 40 hour Instructional Coordinator Induction program approved by the NC Dept. of Instruction, Division of Career and Technical Education is requiredMOS Certification - ExcelKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:Knowledge of Federal, State, and local policies and regulations governing CTE programs in North CarolinaMaintain knowledge of NC CTE Essential Standards, 21st Century Skills, Current State and local Graduation Requirements to foster career and college opportunities for studentsAbility to organizePassion for details and enjoys logisticsAbility to use Excel or related software to extract and manipulate dataAbility and desire to seek and pass on knowledge to others in an educational/learning environmentAbility to demonstrate leadership and work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school based staff, students, parents and the communityAbility to work confidentially and with discretionKnowledge of computer generated technology and electronics# of Jobs 1.00 Teacher Scale Y Minimum Educational Requirements Bachelors Term 11 Month Additional Job Information Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary.
