Job Description

A healthcare opportunity is available for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with experience in neonatal or pediatric critical care. This position is based in Richmond Hill, GA, supporting patients in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting. This is a contract role with a 12-hour evening shift schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM. Qualifications & Desired Experience: Must hold Respiratory Therapist licensure and current PALS certification. Minimum of 1 year of experience in Neonatal ICU or Pediatric ICU critical care. Proficient in managing ventilated patients independently, including ventilator management using Servo-U. Skilled in heliox therapy setup and monitoring for both invasive and non-invasive applications. Experience using non-invasive ventilation such as biPAP and CPAP. Familiarity with neonatal respiratory support equipment including Bubble CPAP, nitric oxide delivery, and high-frequency ventilation modalities (HFOV, HFJV). Comfortable with documentation in Epic electronic medical records system. Location: Richmond Hill, GA, is a community known for its balance of small-town charm and access to regional healthcare centers. Responsibilities: Independently admit and manage ventilated neonatal and pediatric patients. Operate and monitor respiratory equipment such as Servo U & Drager VN500 ventilators, F&P Bubble CPAP, HFOV, HFJV, vapotherm, and heliox therapy. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient respiratory care. Maintain accurate patient documentation using the Epic system. Adhere to hospital and unit-specific guidelines and policies. Shift/Hours: 12-hour shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM. This unit provides advanced technology and supportive staffing that includes unit secretaries and respiratory techs to assist respiratory therapists. The dress code includes a hunter green uniform, consistent with unit standards.
