Healthy Futures CCHSC Summer Associate Cherokee County Health Services Council is a quasi-governmental agency organization, formed under the Oklahoma Interlocal Act, and founded February 12, 1999 that is located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Four government agencies came together to form the CCHSC: Tahlequah City Government, Cherokee County government, Northeastern State University, and the Cherokee Nation. The goal of Cherokee County Health Services Council is to strengthen the social, cultural and educational connectedness of residents of Cherokee County. Member Duties : Summer Associates will assist people of all ages in staying engaged and learning during the summer. They will help plan and lead activities like arts and crafts, gardening, sports, exercise, and music to promote healthy living and mental health. Duties may include supporting food and nutrition programs, cleanup, and offering information about nutritious recipes for fresh produce at food banks, soup kitchens or farmer markets, etc. They may also aid those with mobility challenges by helping with shopping and carrying items. Summer Associates could help staff with promoting drug prevention, suicide prevention, and recovery programs. And at camps, boys' and girls' programs or at other youth training/programs.
