Respiratory Therapist (PT)

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center - We are seeking a skilled and compassionate part-time (weekends and evening for approx.15 hrs/week) Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team.  The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a passion for improving patient outcomes and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams   Responsibilities: 1.      Respiratory Therapy ·         Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions ·         Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization. ·         Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status ·         Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management ·         Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans ·         Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings 2.      Documentation and Compliance: ·         Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards ·         Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols   Qualifications/Requirements: ·         Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.  Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required. ·         Licensure: New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License ·         Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas ·         Skills: o   Proficiency in respiratory care techniques and nursing procedures o   Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making abilities o   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills o   Ability to work in high pressure situations and maintain a calm demeanor   Compensation :$50/hour The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
