An established specialty pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead and support pharmacy operations in a growing site environment. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a pharmacy professional with expertise in specialty and infusion pharmacy services who is ready to help build and optimize pharmacy processes from the ground up. Key Responsibilities: Oversee prescription review, verification, dispensing, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, and ACHC Provide patient counseling and manage medication therapy in specialty disease areas Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, fostering a collaborative team environment Collaborate closely with Intake, Referral Services, Nursing, Clinical, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations teams to streamline onboarding and prescription fulfillment Maintain accurate pharmacy records and support quality assurance and incident resolution efforts Participate in on-call weekend rotation as part of operational coverage Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License required; Connecticut license preferred or willingness to obtain quickly Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or related pharmacy settings Strong background in specialty therapies, patient qualification processes, and payer requirements Prior management or PIC experience, especially in infusion pharmacy, highly valued Retail pharmacy backgrounds without specialty or infusion experience will not meet requirements Familiarity with the CareTend pharmacy system is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office and other pharmacy software Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Weekend on-call rotation This contract role starts immediately with a 13-week initial term and potential extension up to 26 weeks. The position is onsite and located in the Cambridge, MA area. Candidates should be prepared to engage fully onsite and ready to support a fast-paced, expanding specialty pharmacy environment.
