About the JobJoin Our Team as a Point of Care Lab TechnicianLocation: California (Van provided; must drive to pick up/return each shift)Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PMHourly Rate: $26.00 - $32.00About the Role:As a Point of Care Lab Technician, you will perform waived laboratory tests in mobile or remote settings. You'll ensure quality control, maintain instruments, and handle specimens with accuracy. This role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work closely with a skilled team.Key Responsibilities:Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection.Conduct point-of-care laboratory tests, including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular, and Coagulation.Enter patient demographics and test orders accurately into the lab system.Verify quality control for all tests and escalate abnormal or rare results.Maintain inventory and documentation for supplies and QC records.Troubleshoot equipment, client, or system issues.Operate a van to support STAT testing when needed.Monitor STAT boards to meet turnaround goals.Perform instrument maintenance and clerical tasks related to testing.Adhere to all safety protocols for handling biological and hazardous materials.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Licensed as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).Previous laboratory testing or phlebotomy experience preferred.Familiarity with lab processes and point-of-care testing.Valid California driver's license with a good driving record.Skills & Competencies:Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.Accuracy and precision in testing and documentation.Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.Commitment to safety and quality standards.Physical Requirements:Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing.Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.Ability to lift or move up to 15 lbs occasionally.Vision requirements: close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.Exposure to biological or hazardous materials (with proper training).Benefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.Healthcare and Dependent Care FSA.Life & AD&D insurance, plus voluntary life and disability options.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Same-day pay advances available.Additional Requirements.NOTE: COVID-19 vaccination required (or approved exemption).
