Salary Lane: Hourly pay starting at $18.50. Assigned Workday Calendar: 181 days (School Year Days) Status: Part-Time (29 Hours per Week) Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:45am - 2:55pm Benefits: Eligible for supplemental benefits such as vision, life insurance, disability, etc. Eligible for PERF Retirement. (Not eligible for medical and dental insurance.) Paid Time Off Benefits: Eligible Holiday Pay: Not Eligible Qualifications: * Education: A high school education with related early childhood education experience preferred or a minimum of 20 credit hours from an accredited college/university. * Skills and Knowledge: Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and babies. Maintains a positive and nurturing relationship with babies, students, staff, parents, and the community. * Experience: At least one year experience in early childhood programs (i.e. day care, community programs) * Certification: None is required. * Other: Ability to maintain a positive relationship with pupils, staff, parents, and the community. Essential Functions: * Maintains a positive and nurturing relationship with babies, students, staff, parents, and the community. * Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and babies. * Creates and maintains a safe environment for the babies and toddlers. * Provides care (feeding, diapering, etc.) for infants and toddlers and keeps adequate supplies stocked for them. * Provides stimulating activities and a safe environment for the babies and toddlers. * Communicates effectively with the students, parents, babies, and staff members.?? * Maintains daily logs regarding baby care and communicates the information to the parents. * Serves as the resource of information and help for nursery volunteers and substitutes. ? * Collaborates with community providers and building staff to plan programming for the babies and toddlers.? * Assists with supervision of students when babies are not present. * Is an example of exemplary adult behavior for students. * Projects genuine care and concern for all students and their children. * Participate in professional development, as assigned. * Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
