Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem CT Ultrasonographer to join the Radiology Team and work alongside some of the best medical providers in Philadelphia. Summary: Independently performs all ultrasound exams per site protocols and assists Radiologists and Surgeons with ultrasound-guided procedures. Responsible for patient safety and functions as the first-line interface with patients to successfully accomplish their imaging needs. Must have working knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and represent the department as a skilled competent professional. Responsibilities:• Operates and maintains ultrasound units; communicates equipment problems and image quality issues. • Performs high-level disinfection of Ultrasound probes when indicated; maintains required documentation. • Prepares and stocks ultrasound rooms and maintains cleanliness of area. • Greets patient, verifies with 2 identifiers; interviews and screens patient before exam; explains procedures to the patient. • Responsible for patient safety. • Educates and instructs other healthcare providers in the use of specialized equipment, new procedures, and new concepts. • Efficiently operates all computer information systems used to coordinate patient care including EPIC and SECTRA. Completes case documentation and billing in a timely fashion. • Completes mandatory continuing educational requirements and attends all mandatory in-services and staff meetings to maintain competency training. • Represents the Department and Hospital as a skilled, competent professional. • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and proceduresMinimum Requirements:H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)Graduation from an approved Radiologic Technology Program (Required)Active ARDMS certification or ARDMS eligible and certified within one year of hire date (Required)Must maintain continuing education credits for certificationWe believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
