Profile review will be conducted by the unit manager through a phone interview. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ARRT certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography is mandatory. There are three scanners in the department. Occasionally, the staff may need to float to X-ray for emergency department, inpatient, or outpatient imaging. Common imaging studies performed include routine CT exams for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department cases. Additional procedures include cardiac CT, biopsies, drainage, and cryo/microwave ablations. The average number of scans performed per day is 65-70 across three scanners. The electronic medical record (EMR) system in use is EPIC, and the Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) is SECTRA. Department uses equipment from GE. There is a radiology supervisor and lead technologists available in the department. Registered Radiology Assistants are not employed in this setting. Radiologists are present onsite 24/7. IV skills are beneficial for working with outpatients. Scheduling may involve a mix of 10-hour and 12-hour shifts for both days and nights. The schedule is posted at least two weeks in advance. Weekend shifts may vary, with some requiring work every weekend and others every other weekend, depending on departmental needs. Daily shifts that fall on holidays are mandatory. Call duty is optional, requiring a 45-minute response time. Scrubs of any color are acceptable as long as they look professional. Hospital scrubs are provided for staff working in designated areas. The first three days of the assignment will include department-specific orientation. The cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is not required for this position. Trauma level is applicable in this acute care setting.
