Job DescriptionJOB OVERVIEW• Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician• Job Type: Locum Tenens• Location: Hamilton, NY• Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient• Coverage Type: Clinical Only• Coverage Period: 05/01/2026 - Ongoing• Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible (Primarily Day Shifts; Nights Available)COVERAGE DATES• May 1, 2026 - OngoingPATIENT INFORMATION• Patient Demographics: All Ages• Admissions: Yes• Phone Consults: Yes• Case Mix: Emergency Medicine cases including acute and critical care presentationsFACILITY INFORMATION• Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment• Specialty Backup Available: Hospital specialty support teams• Support Staff Available: ED nursing and clinical staff• Reason for Coverage: Coverage NeedsPRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE• Hospital Privileges Required: YesCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not SpecifiedREQUIRED PROCEDURES• Emergency patient evaluation and stabilization• Moderate sedation procedures• Acute and critical care management• Diagnostic interpretation and treatment planningJOB REQUIREMENTS• Licenses: Active, Unrestricted New York Medical License Required• Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine (Must obtain BC within 5 years if BE)• DEA: Active DEA with NY address including Schedules II-V required• Certifications:- EM Physicians: ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)- FM/IM Physicians: ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), ATLS• Experience: Residency completed in EM, IM, or FM• Other Qualifications:- Must qualify for Moderate Sedation privileges- 2 years of case logs required- 50 CME hours within past 2 years required- Immunization compliance (Flu, PPD/Chest X-ray, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, N95 fit test)- Malpractice coverage minimum: $1.3M / $3.9MDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Provide emergency medical care for a wide range of patient conditions• Perform rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries• Manage critical care and stabilization of patients• Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital teams• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters
