Morris Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center - Job Summary Morris Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, located in the northeast Bronx, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive nursing knowledge, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare. This leadership role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and fostering a compassionate environment focused on resident care and safety. Responsibilities Provide strategic direction and oversight for all nursing operations, including shift management and staffing schedules. Supervise nursing staff, including nurse management, ensuring high-quality resident care and adherence to care plans. Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and ensure compliance with EMR/EHR systems. Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to residents’ needs, incorporating physiology and anatomy knowledge. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, Medicare guidelines, and state-specific licensing requirements. Manage residents’ medical records accurately while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes. Lead quality assurance initiatives related to MDS assessments and documentation accuracy. Provide leadership in staff training, performance evaluations, and development for nursing personnel Assist with interviewing, hiring, and orienting new nursing staff Oversee daily staffing process and ensure adequeate staffing is maintained infection control Facilitate communication between residents’ families, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to ensure seamless care delivery. Skills 5 + years of experience as ADON or DON in nursing homes. Proven management and supervising experience within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and documentation review processes. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and medical records management tools. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage shift operations effectively. In-depth understanding of nursing administration principles and care planning processes. Familiarity with Medicare regulations and compliance standards related to long-term care facilities. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and residents’ families. Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
