Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 5+ years of experience in both adult and NICU settings for a 13-week travel assignment at a hospital serving adult, Level III NICU, and pediatric ER populations.Job Details• 13-week contract with a 36-hour work week,• Varied 12-hour shifts (days or nights),• Works across multiple areas including the floor, ICU, NICU, and ER,• Adult, Level III NICU, and potential pediatric ER patient population,• Approximately 20 treatments per shift,• RT equipment includes Servo I, S, and U ventilators, V60, HT-70, ResMed, Optiflow, Volara, therapy vest, and SIPAP,• Every other weekend required,• 1 major and 1 minor holiday coverage required,• No on-call or standby requirements,• No floating required,• Schedule is manager-assigned with no block scheduling; 4 or more RTs are scheduled per shift,Job Requirements• RRT credential required (CRT considered only with 10+ years of experience),• Minimum 5 years of respiratory therapy experience,• Experience in both adult and NICU settings required,• Neonatal ventilation experience required, including BUBBLE CPAP, high flow, and jet ventilation,• Current certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NRP (AHA),• Active Virginia (VA) RRT license required if applicable,Additional Information• Responsibilities include aerosol therapy, BiPAP, ABGs, ventilator management, HFNC, CPT, COPD education, respiratory assessment, airway management, and nitric oxide administration,• RTs are expected to assist with intubation but are not required to intubate independently,• Hospitalist and intensivist are in-house,• Works under the supervision of a charge therapist or supervisor,• Orientation is approximately one week, including general hospital orientation,• Steel grey scrubs required
