Position Summary: Responsible for defining and delivering product capabilities that support underwriting excellence, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the Policy Administration System (PAS) and related data workflows. This role oversees the strategic roadmap for PAS enhancements, ensuring the platform effectively supports commercial lines products, rating, quoting, issuance, endorsements, billing integration, and policy lifecycle processes. A key responsibility includes managing end‑to‑end Bordereaux data processes-ensuring accurate ingestion, validation, transformation, and reporting of delegated authority data. The Product Owner collaborates closely with Underwriting, Operations, Actuarial, Compliance, and Technology teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, resolve issues, and optimize data quality and workflow automation. Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that system capabilities align with business goals while meeting service-level and regulatory standards Key Responsibilities: 1. Operational Objectives: Determine operational objectives by understanding the business function, scope of the product or request, required changes, deliverables, and expected outcomes, working closely with business and operations stakeholders. 2. Impact Analysis: Define and quantify the impact of requests or changes on business metrics (cost, KPI, GWP, compliance) and help prioritize requests for development based on available capacity. 3. Functional Module Expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of the functional modules of the PAS platform. Conduct product rationalization to streamline and optimize the insurance product portfolio, eliminating redundancies and aligning offerings with business strategy. 4. Workflow Development: Construct workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, write specifications, and prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. 5. Project Planning: Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements, form a project team, establish a project budget, and assist with project management for selected projects. 6. Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with various departmental teams to achieve better business outcomes, support testing on system changes to ensure they meet requirements and collaborate with the Product Manager on roadmap planning and prioritization. 7. Requirements Documentation: Write clear and well-structured business requirements and documents, convert roadmap features into smaller user stories, and communicate to validate requirements and obtain approval from relevant stakeholders. 8. Resource Management: Validate resource requirements and develop cost estimate models. 9. Stakeholder Management: Manage stakeholder relationships across Underwriting, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and external partners, ensuring clear communication, alignment on priorities, timely issue resolution, and effective collaboration throughout the product lifecycle. 10. Bordereaux Data Management: Oversee end‑to‑end bordereaux data management, including collection, ingestion, validation, cleansing, transformation, and reconciliation of delegated authority data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with underwriting, claims, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements. Compensation The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below he listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but now limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one compensation of Allied World comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards. $125,000 - $135,000 Professional Experience / Qualifications * Exposure to commercial specialty insurance domain * Strong understanding of commercial insurance products such as Professional Lines, Casualty, and Property. * Experienced in supporting PAS platform. Setting up product * Prefer experience in Oneshield Dragon platform * Ability to analyze business and technical specifications and interact with our business users effectively * Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities * Superior presentation and negotiation skills * Strong management and organizational skills * Adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environments * Five or more years of Business Analyst experience * Bachelor's degree or higher in business analysis, business administration, finance or related field * Must be a self-starter with a great attitude, not afraid to take the initiative, and work with little supervision * Preference given to holders of a University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field. * Preferred experience working within an Agile - Scrum/Kanban environment * Minimum 8 years of real-world experience in business requirement * Minimum of 3 years of experience in the commercial insurance domain. * Practical experience with property & casualty insurance/reinsurance and multi-currency systems is an asset * Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, Ltd, through its subsidiaries, is a global provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions.
