Director of Surgical Services Location: Hopewell, VAJob Type: Full-Time, Days (No Weekends)Compensation: $95,000 - $155,000(based on experience)Bonus Structure: 15% Annual Director BonusSign-On/Relocation: Negotiable Position Overview: An established regional medical center in Central Virginia is seeking a results-driven Director of Surgical Services to lead a high-performing perioperative team. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role with 24/7 operational accountability across the surgical service lines-including the OR, PACU, SPD, Endoscopy, and Pre/Post-Op units. Key Responsibilities: Drive operational excellence and patient safety across all perioperative departments Lead, mentor, and evaluate staff including managers and clinical coordinators Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and maintain strong relationships with anesthesia and medical staff Oversee scheduling, staffing, capital planning, and regulatory compliance Implement process improvements and evidence-based practices to enhance service delivery Champion employee engagement and patient experience initiatives Support the integration of advanced technology (e.g., Mako and DaVinci robotics) Participate in strategic planning and execution of surgical service growth initiatives Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Admin, or Business preferred Active RN license in Virginia (or compact state) required Minimum 3 years of surgical services leadership experience (Manager or Director level) CNOR and/or CSSM certification preferred This is a strong opportunity for a confident surgical services leader to join a growing team and contribute to clinical advancement and strategic initiatives in a close-knit and high-tech environment.
