This role is essential to ensuring reliable plant performance and regulatory compliance by maintaining critical systems such as pumps, blowers, aerators, mixers, piping, and chemical feed systems.The position performs both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant equipment and facilities, as well as grounds and building maintenance. The Plant Technician may also operate the treatment plant as a relief operator when needed, monitoring processes, conducting routine laboratory tests, and making operational adjustments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.This role involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments and requires attention to safety, accuracy, and adherence to operational standards. Work is performed under regular supervision and is evaluated based on quality, timeliness, and compliance with procedures.Duties and Responsibilites Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment, machinery, and buildings.Perform unscheduled maintenance and repairs on pumps, motors, gear boxes, blowers, aerators, mixers, piping, and related systems.Maintain accurate records using a computerized asset management system.Research, source, and order parts and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.Operate water or wastewater treatment plant processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements when serving as a relief operator.Monitor plant operations through observation, equipment readings, and laboratory testing; make adjustments as needed to maintain proper performance.Assist with grounds maintenance and general facility upkeep.Operate equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and other machinery as required.Follow all safety protocols, including working in environments with exposure to chemicals, mechanical hazards, and wastewater conditions.Perform other duties as assigned.
