General Information Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility Work Location: Thousand Oaks, CA, USA Onsite or Remote Fully On-Site Work Schedule Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm Posted Date 03/02/2026 Salary Range: $63.85 - 84.22 Hourly Employment Type 2 - Staff: Career Duration Indefinite Job # 26151 Primary Duties and Responsibilities Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility The Department of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology is actively recruiting an experienced Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist to play a critical role in advancing our diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities. As a core member of our allied health team, you will utilize Nuclear Medicine Technology to conduct detailed assessments of anatomical and physiological conditions, supporting the highest standards of patient care. In this role, you will: * Engage directly with patients through interviews, education, and care throughout their procedures. * Prepare, calibrate, and perform rigorous quality control on radiopharmaceutical compounds, ensuring accuracy and safety. * Administer radiopharmaceuticals and, under physician supervision, adjunctive medications. * Execute a wide range of imaging and therapeutic procedures, applying expertise in computer-based image processing and enhancement. * Perform laboratory testing in support of diagnostic and therapeutic protocols. * Apply deep knowledge of radiation physics and safety regulations to minimize exposure and uphold ALARA standards for patients, colleagues, the public, and yourself. This position requires a high level of technical proficiency, clinical judgment, and patient-centered care. Your expertise in the effective use of radionuclides and commitment to safety will make you an essential contributor to both our department and the patients we serve. Target hourly rate: $63.85-$84.22 Bargaining Unit: HX-UPTE Job Qualifications Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility Required: * Valid Certifications as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with either the Nuclear Medicine Technology Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART); * Valid licensure in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch, State of California; * Working knowledge of the use of scintillation gamma cameras, well counters, radiation survey detectors, clinical acquisition and processing computer stations, and computer network systems; * Reading skills to understand patient records, forms, technical procedure and policy manuals, and other related documents written in Standard English; * Speaking skill to collect and clearly convey information to people of various educational, cultural, and economic backgrounds using tact, diplomacy, correct grammar and vocabulary; * Interpersonal skills to work as part of a medical team by establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with physicians, medical staff, patients, and the public; * Ability to set priorities to multiple tasks, shifting demands, deadlines, and a heavy workload; Writing skills to maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and logs; * Ability to work with self-initiative and minimum supervision in the performance of nuclear medicine procedures; Interpersonal skills to relate to patients of all age groups or their families with sensitivity and compassion; * Ability to work rotating shifts and starting hours; ability to work beyond scheduled hours if patient care requires; * Ability to staff multiple dual modality scanners in separate locations on a rotational basis; * A 3-5 year of full-time working experience in a Staff Nuclear Medicine position. As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
