Valley is committed to being an organization that promotes authenticity and encourages opportunities for success.Job Summary & Deliverables The Autism Specialist provides developmental and educational services to children and adolescents with autism in a clinical setting or the home environment.Essential Functions Designs individualized programs for children and adolescents with autism to increase and develop social, communication, and behavioral skillsProvides services within the assigned treatment setting - clinical setting or the client's home. Homebased treatment assignments require access to reliable transportation.Designs specialized programs and teaching procedures for individual or small groups of clients to develop academic knowledge and ability through the application of behavioral techniques and proceduresCharts the progress of assigned clients through weekly progress notes to ensure the ongoing evaluation of each client's strengths and opportunitiesMonitors progress notes and related data to ensure the proper implementation of individualized behavior change programsReviews current research on autism, understands behavioral modification theories and applies appropriate techniquesCompletes various administrative tasks and meets deadlines for submission to ensure timely and accurate data collection for electronic health record systemsRequirementsEducationHigh School diploma or equivalentExperienceThree months of experience as an Autism Assistant or six months of direct client care experienceLicenses/CertificationsCPR certification Valley de-escalation certificationDriving positions require a minimum age of 21 and a current driver's license Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience working with individuals with autismSalary Description $20-$25
