Compensation:$21.20 hourlyThis position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.Compensation Type:Non-ExemptEmployment Type:RegularGrade:NE10Position SummaryThis position performs specialized research duties in support of a variety of college programs, departments and operations.MAJOR DUTIESDevelops, administers and manages internal surveys.Publishes reports on various college websites/portals.Gathers information for annual reportingResearches information as requested by college departments or personnel.Processes and records ad-hoc data requests.Creates and updates summaries and analyses for data and performance indicators.Distributes, files and updates data for performance indicators on the college website.Assists in the development and review of reports for the federal and state required reporting.Performs related duties.KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITIONKnowledge of data analysis principles, using statistics, trends and regressions.Knowledge of data collection methods and principles.Knowledge of survey development and implementation principles.Knowledge of college policies and procedures.Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs.Skill in decision making and problem solving.Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in working effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.SUPERVISORY CONTROLSThe Director of Institutional Research assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.GUIDELINESGuidelines include the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act guidelines, the college employee handbook, and college and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application. COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORKThe work consists of varied specialized duties. The need for accuracy and completeness contributes to the complexity of the position.The purpose of this position is to perform specialized research duties in support of college operations. Success in this position contributes to the collection and reporting of accurate and complete data.CONTACTSContacts are typically with co-workers, other college personnel, faculty, staff, students, and members of the general public.Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to provide services.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table, or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects and distinguishes between shades of color.The work is typically performed in an office.SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITYNone.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.The following REQUIRED documents must be submitted with the application in order to be considered.
