It is one of the largest private school systems in the United States. Its schools have received 96 Blue Ribbon awards from the U.S. Department of Education over the past 10 years. The school aide is hired by and is directly accountable to the principal. The school aide agrees to abide by the established policies and procedures of the Archdiocese of Chicago, as well as the policies and procedures of the local school. The principal will determine the specific assignment of the school aide. The school aide cooperates with the principal and staff in providing an environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education. General Responsibilities The duties of the school aide will include but are not limited to: • accepting position-related duties directed by the principal which will facilitate the overall operation of the school program• following established procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of the students• maintaining confidentiality and discretion regarding school and classroom matters• attending faculty and staff meetings when required by the principal. Environmental and Physical Demands The school aide is expected to carry materials and climb stairs.Requirements and Preferences • practicing Catholic preferred • compliance with Safe Environment Requirements • high school graduate, GED or equivalent supervisory skills • ability to work in a structured environment and follow directives as aligned with specific assignmentsThe Archdiocese of Chicago offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and benefit programs.
