Performs routine scrub duties according to AORN standards and established policies and procedures of the department of surgery. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment for all. Keeps current and operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies and equipment; assists with the ongoing Performance improvement Program. Required to work flexible hours and be on call nights, weekends and holidays. Assists with annual performance evaluations and competencies. Qualifications Education: Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved operating room technician program. Experience: Required experience: * Minimum 3 years experience as an OR Surgical Technologist and 1 year experience in General Surgery * Experience in assisting in ordering General Surgery supplies for procedures * Experience in oversight of maintenance and care of surgical instruments & equipment Required Certification / Licensure / Registration: * American Heart Association BLS * Surgical Tech Certification Demonstrates yearly competencies specific to unit. WBMC offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the art breast imaging center, womens and childrens services and the only level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County.
