Title: Psychiatric Services Director Location: Wellness Clinic - 12360 E. Burnside St. Portland, OR 97233 & Indian Health Clinic - 703 NE Hancock St., Portland, OR 97212 Schedule: This is an in person position, approx. Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Some additional evening and weekend work required. Position Overview: The Clinical Psychiatric Director is responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations, prescriptive services, referrals for clients for mental health care and mental health education and gives oversite of services with other psychiatric prescribers at NARA. What you will do: * Review, develop, and implement policies and procedures related to psychiatric prescribing with the Medical Director. * Coordinate with other mental health managers/directors in order to determine staffing needs for psychiatric prescriber services across the different NARA locations * Provide support to psychiatric prescribers to ensure high quality care to clients. Coordinate with other managers/directors to ensure psychiatric prescribers have the resources necessary to ensure high quality of care. * Provide administrative oversight in regard to timecards, vacations, and other similar administrative decisions regarding psychiatric prescribers, ensuring adequate coverage during regular business hours. * Provide comprehensive assessment and prescriptive mental health care. * Coordinate patient care with other providers and agencies and advocates for client with mental health and primary health care systems. * Perform initial and ongoing psychiatric assessments. * Encourage family participation in mental health care of patients as deemed appropriate by patient and other clinic providers. * Develop and document a plan of care and evaluate the client's progress. * Coordinate with behavioral health clinicians regarding behavioral changes. * Coordinate with contractual pharmacy, primary care providers, hospitals, and laboratories for required diagnostic procedures. * Provide mental health education to individual patients as needed, such as managing chronic illness, high-risk behavior, and health consequences * Engage in ongoing education and specialized training to maintain a high quality of care to NARA NW patient population.
