We're Hiring at RHD!Certified Peer Specialist$17.38/hrProgram: ACT KentLocation: Kent CountyStatus: Full-Time - 40 hoursSchedule: M-F 8a-4p with on-call responsibilitiesABOUT THE ROLEThe Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) provides peer-based recovery support services to individuals in mental health recovery. Drawing on lived experience and professional training, the CPS supports individuals in regaining control over their recovery journey through education, advocacy, skill development, and connection to natural and community supports. This role is an integral part of the ACT team and models wellness, recovery, and person-centered care in alignment with RHD values.RESPONSIBILITIESDeliver peer support services, including education, advocacy, and engagement in treatment and recovery planningSupport individuals served in developing coping skills, managing symptoms, and building independenceAssist with the development of natural supports, social connections, and meaningful community involvementFacilitate or co-facilitate recovery-oriented groups and activities such as:Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) groupsRecovery support and self-help groupsCommunity meetings and coping skills groupsProvide recovery education and orientation to individuals served, family members, staff, and new enrolleesSupport person-centered interventions outlined in individual service plansAssist individuals with independent living preparationComplete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner according to agency policiesMaintain personal wellness and model healthy functioning for individuals servedAttend required trainings and meetings and perform additional assigned duties that support recovery servicesREQUIREMENTSCertified Peer Specialist (CPS) certificationHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of two (2) years of experience working with individuals in mental health recoveryAbility to maintain certification requirements, including at least 18 credit hours of continuing education annuallyAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required by program needsADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSStrong understanding of recovery-oriented, person-centered, and peer-driven service modelsAbility to maintain professionalism, sound judgment, and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)Comfort using basic office equipment and computer softwareAbility to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and engaging in repetitive motionWillingness to follow all safety, OSHA, fire, fiscal, and organizational policies and proceduresBENEFITSFull-time employees are eligible toMedical, Dental, and Vision benefits401k, Life, Disability InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid Training, Career AdvancementDailyPay - A benefit that allows you to access your pay when you need itHSA, FSALife Assistance ProgramA Great Team EnvironmentCompetitive WagesWellness ProgramABOUT APIS AND THE AFFILIATEAPISApis Services, Inc. The program employs master's and bachelor's-level counselors, a registered nurse, a substance abuse specialist, a vocational specialist, a psychiatrist/APN, a peer support specialist, and program assistant. Team members work together with clients to promote symptom stability and appropriate use of medication; restore personal, community living, and social skills; promote and maintain physical health; establish access to entitlements, housing, work, and social opportunities; and promote and maintain the highest possible level of functioning in the community. This program is funded by and part of the system of public services offered by Delaware DSAMH.
