The RoleThe Infectious Disease Department is seeking a self-motivated and adaptable Senior Research Associate or Research Associate with strong experience working with murine models and in vivo related techniques to support the development of novel vaccines and therapeutics. This position will contribute across all IDR programs through the performance and development of in vivo based experiments in biosafety level 1 and 2.The candidate will support the IDR comparative medicine team interfacing with multiple functional teams within IDR. The individual will help to ensure the accurate and quality execution of in-vivo based experiments. Here's What You'll Do Carry out technical procedural work including dosing (all major routes including intravenous, intraperitoneal and intramuscular) and collection procedures (especially blood and tissues) with laboratory animal species with expertise in mice.Ability to understand and operate rodent anesthesia systems and other specialized equipment such as common imaging modalitiesProcess samples according to specific criteria, store and or ship appropriately.Assist with ensuring facility and animal housing rooms are adequately equipped and suppliedAssist with all aspects of experimental planning and logisticsWork closely with research leads and the team manager to ensure quality and compliance of all in vivo based experimentsMaintain full compliance with regulatory requirements including protocols, SOPs, and other working documentsInterpret, summarize, and report on experimental data as necessaryAdditional duties as may be assigned from time to timeHere's What You'll Need (Basic Qualifications)BS/BA 2+ years of relevant experience working with laboratory animal speciesExtensive experience carrying out technical procedural work involving murine modelsWork independently and manage multiple studies from study preparation, execution, and data recordingDemonstrates adaptability in dynamic environments with shifting priorities and timelinesKnowledge and hands-on experience working within the regulatory frameworks for compliant in-vivo experimentsAttention to detail, ability to think ahead and strong communication skillsExcellent record keeping and data management with experience working in ELNsFamiliarity with ABSL-2 working practices and procedures is preferredCandidate will be curious in exploring new path for drug discovery, bold in proposing creative experimental designs and ideas. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
