Client Overview: Our client is a healthcare organization providing specialized infusion and oncology services in a collaborative, patient-focused clinical environment. They are looking to add an Oncology Pharmacist to their team. Salary/Hourly Rate: $165k Position Overview: The Oncology Pharmacist will deliver comprehensive oncology pharmacy services within an Infusion Pharmacy setting. This role requires independent clinical judgment and close collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include order verification, IV admixture oversight, medication safety initiatives, and continuous quality improvement in compliance with USP-797 and USP-800 standards. Responsibilities for the Oncology Pharmacist: * Review, verify, and process oncology treatment orders accurately and efficiently. * Ensure clinical appropriateness, proper dosing, labeling, and quality of all medications. * Supervise preparation of sterile and non-sterile IV admixtures. * Oversee pharmacy technician workflow to maintain productivity and safety. * Utilize pharmacy and institutional information systems effectively. * Review and monitor patient medication regimens for efficacy, safety, and interactions. * Identify, resolve, and prevent medication-related problems. * Conduct medication histories and respond to drug information requests. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize treatment plans. * Educate pharmacy and ancillary staff on chemotherapy regimens, preparation, and monitoring. * Participate in medication safety and quality improvement initiatives. * Maintain compliance with all regulatory, legal, and accreditation standards. Required Experience/Skills for the Oncology Pharmacist: * Active New York State Pharmacist license. * Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification. * Minimum 2 - 4 years of oncology pharmacy experience. * Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Proficiency with EHRs and pharmacy information systems. * Knowledge of USP-797 and USP-800 guidelines. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Oncology Pharmacist: * 2+ years of oncology pharmacy experience. * Prior Infusion Pharmacy experience. * Experience documenting clinical interventions and recommendations. Education Requirements: * Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is required.
