Department: ICE | LPSL APATH Histology Lab Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: This histotechnician position provides daily direction to fellow histology technicians, and other laboratory staff with regard to laboratory policies and procedures, equipment, education, Informatics or Quality Assurance. The Histotechnician motivates, coordinates, and supports staff to ensure quality results are reported in a timely manner. Incumbents operate under general supervision of a laboratory supervisor, laboratory manager, Lab Services Director, Medical Director, or the Director of the Clinical Laboratories and recommend adjustments to staffing, policies and procedures. The position requires excellent organizational, multi-tasking, communication skills, and the ability to complete all other standard histological duties throughout the lab. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: * HS Diploma/GED; * Certified as HT(ASCP) * 1 year (12 consecutive months) of full-time clinical experience in histopathology laboratory within the last five years OR 1 year (12 consecutive months) of full time veterinary, industry or research experience in histopathology laboratory. * 1 year experience embedding and cutting various tissue biopsies.
