Lab Technician

Please see description below: Pay Rate: $26.00/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift Overview: We are seeking a skilled Material Quality / Laboratory Technician to support Material Quality Engineering functions through comprehensive materials testing and laboratory analysis. This role is responsible for evaluating material properties, identifying abnormalities, and supporting investigations using a wide range of analytical and mechanical testing techniques. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on laboratory experience, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving mindset. Job description: * Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when using laboratory instrumentation to conduct material evaluations * Work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) * Translate analytical testing requests into appropriate sample preparation methods * Set up laboratory equipment, perform testing, collect data, and generate accurate reports * Perform quality testing on materials to determine physical, chemical, and mechanical properties * Identify abnormalities or nonconforming results and promptly report findings * Support material investigations and root cause analysis activities * Actively initiate and participate in problem-solving efforts, including identifying root causes, implementing countermeasures, and preventing recurrence * Maintain, verify, and calibrate laboratory equipment * Document test results, investigations, and activities in accordance with quality standards Experience with one or more of the following instrumentation and testing methods is preferred: * Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) * X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) * Electron Probe Micro-Analysis (EPMA) * Ion Chromatography * Gas Chromatography (GC) * Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) * Tensile Testing * Hardness Testing * Metallography * Plastic/Resin Testing * Paint Testing * Sealer Testing * Metal Cutting and Sample Preparation * Salt Spray / Corrosion Testing Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field OR equivalent experience working in an analytical laboratory * 2+ years of experience in materials testing strongly preferred * Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and materials characterization techniques * Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize trends and abnormalities in data * Excellent documentation and reporting skills * Ability to work independently while also collaborating with engineering and quality teams If you are interested, please apply to this posting today!
