This role ensures that practice operations are aligned with organizational goals related to clinical quality, financial performance, patient experience, physician engagement, and regulatory compliance. The RED serves as the primary executive liaison between physician partners, practice managers, corporate leadership, and external stakeholders. Strategic Leadership & Alignment * Develop and execute regional operating strategies that support organizational growth, financial stability, and long-term sustainability of independent practices. * Partner with physician leaders to define strategic priorities related to access, staffing, service line expansion, EMR optimization, and practice integration. * Use data and KPIs to drive decision-making, identify performance trends, and implement improvement initiatives. Operational Management * Oversee day-to-day operations of all practices within the region, ensuring consistency in workflows, staffing models, scheduling efficiency, revenue cycle performance, and patient flow. * Lead practice managers and administrative teams; develop management talent, set expectations, and ensure accountability for performance. * Coordinate with clinical leadership to support high-quality care delivery, compliance with clinical protocols, and adherence to regulatory standards. Financial Oversight * Manage regional budgets, operational expenses, capital requests, and financial performance metrics. * Monitor revenue cycle results, including charge capture, billing accuracy, reimbursement trends, payer issues, and denial patterns. * Partner with Finance to develop accurate forecasts, pro formas, and EBITDA-driven decision support for growth opportunities. Provider Relations & Engagement * Build strong, trust-based relationships with physician owners and independent practice stakeholders. * Serve as the executive point of contact for addressing physician concerns, operational needs, practice development, and strategic planning. * Facilitate provider onboarding, recruitment, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives. Growth, Integration & Network Development * Lead the integration of newly affiliated practices, ensuring operational alignment, cultural onboarding, system adoption, and governance participation. * Evaluate new market opportunities, service line expansions, and partnership models within the region. * Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development to drive patient acquisition and market share growth. Compliance, Quality & Risk Management * Ensure regional adherence to organizational policies, HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and state regulatory requirements. * Guide quality improvement programs, patient satisfaction initiatives, and accreditation processes. * Address operational risks, incident trends, and compliance gaps. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Work closely with corporate functions including HR, IT/EMR, Revenue Cycle, Finance, Payer Contracting, Supply Chain, and MSO leadership. * Represent regional needs in enterprise-level planning, system implementations, and governance activities. * Facilitate communication between practices and corporate leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment. Qualifications: * A successful applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. * Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field strongly preferred. * 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in physician practice management, multispecialty groups, ambulatory services, MSO structures, or healthcare operations. * Demonstrated success overseeing multiple sites, large teams, and complex operational environments. * Strong understanding of physician practice economics, payer reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and clinical workflows. * Proven ability to build relationships with physicians, lead change, and drive performance improvement. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. * Data-driven decision-maker with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and financial targets.
