Interventional Radiology Tech | Richmond, Virginia

Join a dynamic Interventional Radiology team in Richmond, VA, as an Imaging - IR Tech on a contract basis. This position is focused on technical skills within the IR unit, not an RN role, providing a vital contribution to patient care through imaging procedures. Located on the first floor of a major medical center, the unit operates with a well-rounded staff consisting of 3-4 techs and RNs during the day, with call coverage at night. The environment utilizes advanced equipment including the Discovery 740 IGS system and Meditech EMR to manage patient care effectively. Key Responsibilities: Perform imaging procedures such as biopsies, drain insertions, angiograms, peripheral vascular interventions, paracenteses, and thoracentesis. Assist with additional imaging needs including CT coronary, MRI monitoring, and myelograms. Support line placements and collaborate closely with RNs, who do not scrub cases. Participate in call rotations typically 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend every 4-5 weeks. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Critical Care experience and Procedural Area expertise are essential. Moderate Sedation knowledge is a must-have. PALS certification and Meditech EMR experience preferred. Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
