Lab Technician

Position Summary: * Assist doctors and nurses during endoscopic procedures. This includes, passing devices, equipment, and collecting biopsies, room set- up and other duties as required. * Prepares and maintains equipment. * Clean and disinfect scopes and accessories * Manage inventory and supplies. * Adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment. * Troubleshoots equipment issues. * 4 - 10 hour shifts. Variable day off. 0700- 1730. Must be flexible. On- Call requirement every 6th weekend. Closed on major holidays and weekends. Position Qualification: * Certification as an Endoscopy Technician or Certified Surgical Technician preferred but will train the right person. * Experience working in a healthcare setting. * Strong communication skills and teamwork skills. * Attention to detail. * Basic support (BLS) certification. * Proficiency in maintaining medical equipment. * Knowledge of basic medical terminology and anatomy. * Must be able to arrive to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call. * Must agree to take the ASGE GI tech course on hire.
