The School Psychologist (SP), under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Evaluation and Assessment, is responsible for conducting and interpreting comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for scholars in grades PK-12. The SP works collaboratively with school-based teams and other exceptional education service providers to identify scholars' educational, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs and to recommend evidence-based interventions, accommodations, supports, and services based on evaluation results. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Administers and interprets a variety of psychological, psychoeducational, behavioral, social-emotional, developmental, and adaptive behavior assessments to support comprehensive evaluations and reevaluations for scholars in grades PK-12. * Conducts observations, interviews, record reviews, and other assessment procedures as part of the evaluation process to determine the impact of suspected disabilities on educational performance. * Prepares clear, legally defensible, and comprehensive evaluation reports that communicate findings, eligibility considerations, and educational recommendations. * Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings, School-Based Intervention Team meetings, eligibility meetings, manifestation determination reviews, and ARD/IEP meetings when applicable to communicate evaluation findings and support scholar planning. * Provides consultation to administrators, teachers, parents, and related service providers regarding scholar behavior, social-emotional functioning, mental health needs, instructional supports, accommodations, and intervention planning. * Assists school teams in the development of behavior intervention plans, functional behavioral assessment recommendations, and other supports for scholars demonstrating significant behavioral or emotional needs. * Supports prevention and intervention efforts through collaboration with campus teams related to MTSS, crisis response, behavioral support, and scholar mental health. * Provides direct or indirect psychological services, including counseling, behavioral consultation, and crisis support, as appropriate within district expectations and the scope of the role. * Reviews scholar educational and relevant clinical records as part of the referral, evaluation, and reevaluation process. * Supports the development and implementation of staff training related to behavior, mental health, evaluation practices, and interpretation of assessment results. * Compiles, maintains, and files all required reports, records, and documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements. * Develops and maintains effective relationships with scholars, parents, colleagues, and community partners. * Maintains confidentiality of all scholar information and records. * Assists in the selection of psychological assessment materials and equipment. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Master's degree, specialist degree, or higher in School Psychology or a closely related field required. * Valid Texas license as a Licensed School Psychologist is required. * Experience in school-based psychological assessment, consultation, and intervention preferred. * Bilingual skills in Spanish highly preferred. Knowledge and Skills: * Deep-seated belief in the mission and vision of Austin Achieve. * Be willing to do whatever it takes to ensure all scholars reach their full potential. * Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. * Demonstrated ability to administer, score, and interpret psychological and psychoeducational assessments and synthesize multiple sources of data into meaningful recommendations. * Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing special education, Section 504, evaluation procedures, and related school psychological services. * Knowledge of child development, academic and behavioral intervention, mental health, counseling, crisis response, and functional behavior assessment practices. * Knowledge of the Response to Intervention (RTI) process and MTSS frameworks. * Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, scholars, and multidisciplinary teams. * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. * Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of scholars, parents, teachers, administrators, and colleagues. * Demonstrates a growth mindset and a desire to continually improve as a professional through feedback, coaching, and professional development.
