Job Summary Under supervision of up-line personnel performs varied clerical work necessary in the daily operation of Providence Water; works independently exhibiting good judgment with minimum supervision; and related work as required. REQUIREMENT SALARY * Demonstrated data processing ability at a minimum of 35 words/minute, with a maximum of 2 errors * Prior to completion of 60 Day Trial Period must demonstrate working knowledge of technology and database systems. Including PWSB email and calendar management systems Grade 6 * Demonstrated data processing ability at 42 words/minute * Successful completion of 120 days in the position * Successful completion designated computer training, including Word, Introduction to Spreadsheets and Management of Email/Calendar, etc. Grade 10 * Upon completion of 180 days in the position and attainment of above referenced requirements Grade 12 Duties & Responsibilities * Answers incoming calls and connects to proper personnel. * Maintains sick leave report. * Prepares bid specifications/contracts. * Utilizes computer for inputting billing, meter reading, collection, and accounts payable data. * Reviews data inputted for accuracy. * Prepares title search data for title closings and inventory control. * Maintains records needed for daily and monthly reports used to meet reporting requirements of a water utility and assist supervisory personnel in daily policy decisions. * Acts as receptionist, determines business of callers, and arranges appointments or supplies necessary information. * Communicates with the general public with respect to customer billing complaints. * Researches non-technical information; prepares report of findings and disseminates information to customers. * Operates all standard office equipment. * Performs word processing duties. * Adheres to all Providence Water safety procedures. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * High school graduate or equivalent supplemented with business school training. * Working knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment. * Demonstrated data processing ability with a minimum of 35 words per minute, maximum 2 errors. (Grade 6) * Demonstrated data processing ability with a minimum of 42 words per minute. (Grade 10) * Within the 60 day trial period, ability to gain a working knowledge of departmental technology and data base systems and must demonstrate ability to utilize PW email and calendar management system. * Within and prior to 180 days of assignment, successful completion of designated computer training including Word, [Outlook] and Introduction to spreadsheets. * Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and is responsible to maintain all vehicles maintenance logs. * Exhibits good oral and written communications skills. * Ability to deal with public courteously. * Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. Training Requirements Upon Appointment: * Customer Service Training * Sexual Harassment, Sensitivity, and Diversity Training Sustainment: * Participation in customer service training every 24 months. * Must maintain a valid State Driver's License.
