The images produced must meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as well as image quality. Applies professional knowledge to prepare patients for procedures and educates them while responding to their questions or concerns. Ensures an age-appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education, and principles of physical and functional growth and development. Demonstrates understanding in patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, and infection control. Oversees and trains students in providing patient care treatments and services during their training. Verifies the ordered exam and its appropriateness by utilizing assessment data and principles of growth and development. Positions the patient and equipment to achieve optimal images. Collaborates with physicians to evaluate the images and determine if additional images are needed. Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff. Ensures effective patient preparation and addresses the safety needs of patients.
