Medical Records Specialist

The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for obtaining, organizing, and maintaining complete and accurate patient medical records to support diagnostic imaging and clinical care. This role plays a critical part in ensuring prior imaging and documentation are available for radiologists ahead of diagnostic exams, while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.Key Responsibilities:- Request, collect, and organize patient medical records from internal and external sources- Obtain prior imaging studies and reports for radiologist review prior to diagnostic exams- Upload, index, and maintain records within the EMR/EHR system accurately and timely- Ensure all medical records are complete, legible, and properly labeled- Coordinate with imaging departments, clinical teams, and external facilities as needed- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, patient privacy laws, and medical record handling standards- Track record requests and follow up to ensure timely receiptIdentify missing or incomplete documentation and take corrective action- Support the radiology and clinical teams by ensuring records are available for patient appointments and proceduresWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
