2026 - 2027 Madison Street Medicine VISTA Member Year 2 The mission of the Wisconsin Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (WAFCC) is to support, strengthen, and advocate for Wisconsin's free and charitable clinics, the patients they serve, and the communities with whom they partner. The location for this project is Madison Street Medicine (MSM) in Madison, WI. Madison Street Medicine provides street-based medical outreach and care coordination for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability. Through volunteer-driven care and strong community partnerships, MSM works to improve access to healthcare and connect individuals to ongoing services that support long-term stability. MSM continues to expand its reach and is seeking to strengthen core capacity-building systems to support sustainability and growth. This includes formalizing policies and procedures, improving communication systems, strengthening volunteer and community engagement, and enhancing resource development efforts. Member Duties : The VISTA Member will support capacity-building efforts by: • Developing and strengthening organizational policies, procedures, and best practices to improve quality and access to care • Enhancing internal and external communications, including website and outreach strategies • Supporting resource development efforts such as grant research, fundraising planning, and donor engagement • Strengthening systems for volunteer and community engagement • Documenting processes to ensure continuity and long-term sustainability Increasing MSM's organizational capacity will support more coordinated, accessible healthcare for individuals experiencing homelessness and contribute to long-term program sustainability and impact.
