Salary : $58,656.00 - $61,298.90 AnnuallyLocation : Tarrant County, TXJob Type: Regular Full-timeJob Number: 10872Department: Public HealthOpening Date: 04/07/2026Closing Date: 5/6/2026 11:59 PM Central SummaryThe Epidemiology Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of TB Prevention & Control division of the Public Health Department including investigating TB cases and suspecting and associating investigations which includes the identification and follow-up of all contacts e.g., skin test, x-ray, medical clinic appointments and ninety (90) day repeat TST's. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to stay organized and know how to prioritize the workload. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Competency with computers and Microsoft Office 365 Suite. Advanced analytical skills. Knowledge of medical terminology and forms, equipment, methods and techniques used to provide counseling servicesKnowledge of principles and practices of public health education; pertinent federal, state, and local codes laws and regulations; communicable disease and how to protect themselves from disease process.Understanding of filing system and maintaining a large changing database Ability to work without constant supervision Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree with major course work in Public Health, Natural Science, or a related field, and two (2) full-time years of increasingly responsible disease counseling or prevention experience, required OR An Associate's degree/LVN with four (4) full-time years of TB/STD/HIV experience required. Must possess a valid Texas driver's license. Preferred Requirements:Spanish and English proficiency in oral and written communication preferred.
