BHMC - RN - Wound Care

Position: BHMC  RN  Wound Care Location: Brooklyn, NY Pay Rate: $ 69/hr Schedule: 5 days per week X 8 hours per day.   Duties: -Under the direction and supervision of the Wound and Ostomy Manager, the wound, ostomy and continence nurse will provide safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients. Responsibilities: -Conducts health assessments focused on wound, ostomy, and continence related care. Performs focused physical assessment, develops plan of care based on the diagnosis and individual client needs. Recommends treatments as appropriate. -Assist with the development, revisions, and evaluations of standards of care. -Assess and document patient response to wound care, ostomy, continence, fistula and complex wounds treatment. Evaluate the quality and delivery of care provided by the clinical staff. -Works collaboratively with the health care team and makes referrals to other disciplines as indicated. -Teach, counsels, and assists individuals and families to assume responsibility for prevention of complications as they relate to patients with ostomies, wounds, or continence problems. -Routinely providing comprehensive assessments of patients at risk for developing pressure injuries. -Accepting both travel or Local candidate. Requirements: -Three to five years’ experience in healthcare. --The above are in addition to RN contracted labor requirements. -Ability to fully utilize BHMC’s electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position. -Good interpersonal skills. -Active NYS Registered Nurse license -Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) issued by the WOCNCB or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) issued by the (WOCNCB) or Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) issued by the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM); or Wound Care Certified Certification (WCC) issued by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO).
