Accurately prepares histological slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Pathologist, Identifies, prepares, cuts, stains and preserves specimens in such a manner as assist the pathologist to render a reliable diagnosis. Maintains Pathology laboratory equipment and supplies. Qualifications Minimum Education / Licensure / Certifications * High school diploma or equivalent (GED) * Histologic Technician/Technologist certification * Successfully completed an accredited clinical lab training program in Histo technology * One year experience * Current Histologic Technician/Technologist registration and Florida license Desired: Specialized or job related course work after high school, up to 12 months Minimum Experience 1 year experience SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: * Basic computer skills * Use of Pathology specific equipment and reagents * Transcribe a minimum of 55 W.P.M.
