Bilingual SpanishEnglish Mental Health Consultant Services PACE Mission PACE is a community development organization that creates economic solutions to meet the challenges of empowerment education housing environment and business development in the Pacific Asian and other diverse communities Bilingual in Spanish Required Introduction PACE Education provides high quality early childhood education and support services for children aged 0 5 and economically disadvantaged families In addition to early childhood education the program also provides health nutrition mental health and parent empowermentinvolvement services This program is funded by the Los Angeles County Office of Education LACOE and operated under Head Start and California Community Care Licensing guidelines and regulations PACE Education currently operates 15 pre school centers serving 564 3 5 years old children each year in the metro Los Angeles and South Bay area and 270 children ages 0 3pregnant women are served through our Early Head Start program PACE Education is seeking a qualified Bilingual EnglishSpanish Mental Health Consultants to support our Head Start and Early Head Start programs at least 10 hoursweek Qualifications The Mental Health Consultant provides direct clinical interventions to child and families Must be an independently licensed clinician with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and have the expertise in child and family mental health Acceptable licenses include but are not limited to Licensed Clinical Psychologist Licensed Clinical Social Worker Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Licensed Professional Counselor Licensed School Social Worker Licensed School Psychologist Nurse Practitioner Child Psychiatrist Services Under the guidance of the Mental Health Coordinator the Mental Health Consultant is responsible for key Head StartEarly Head Start roles and responsibilities such as but not limited to classroom and home based observations clinical assessments developing intervention plans and supporting classroom teachershome visitors In addition the Mental Health Consultant will assume responsibility for supporting Head StartEarly Head Start with any other related activities with regard to Head Start Program Performance Standards LACOE GIMs and PACE Education Mental Health Policies and Procedures Duties Complete all activities and paperwork associated with LACOE required mental health assessments home visits parentteacher consults and classroom observationsProvide monthly on site consultation andor reflective supervision with families and staff as neededDesign and implement program practices in response to identified behavioral and mental health issuesProvide group individual staff and parent education trainings on mental health related issuesAssist in providing special help for children with atypical behavior or developmentAssist in accessing and utilizing community mental health servicesWork in collaboration with other Head Start and Early Head Start service areas to refer children for diagnostic examination to confirm that emotional or behavior problems do not have a physical basisParticipate in agency Multidisciplinary Team MDT meetings as requestedAdvise and assist in developmental screening and assessment of children and pregnant mothersProvide Training and Technical Assistance for staff and parents on mental health related topicsSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must pass the following background checks prior to start of employment through LiveScan screening costs not covered by PACESex Offender RegistryChild Abuse and Neglect State RegistryState or Tribal Criminal History Check including fingerprintsFBI Criminal History Check including fingerprints Must have verification of TB clearance prior to contract initiation to be renewed every four 4 years every 4 years for chest x raysMust pass health screening LIC 503 prior to contract initiation health screening is accepted within one year prior to contract to be renewed every four 4 yearsProvide proof of the following immunizations as required Measles Pertussis Whooping Cough Influenza and COVID 19Must complete annual professional development in alignment with license requirements and submit documentation annuallyTo be considered as a PACE ECE Mental Health Consultant please submit the following 1 Letter of interest indicating services to be provided 2 Resume to highlight qualifications and work experience 3 Requested Hourly rate 4 Business LicenseSole Proprietorship Name if available 5 Federal Taxpayer Identification Number if available This is an on going opening All interested parties must submit documents to PACE Educations Mental Health Manager at 1055 Wilshire Blvd Suite 1701 Los Angeles CA 90017 213 989 3244 or email aperrypacelaorg
