QualificationsMust be a current NYS Licensed Registered Nurse; Bachelor's Degree preferredMinimum three years' nursing experience with one of those years in the ID/DD fieldPrevious training and Quality Assurance experience preferredKnowledge of OPWDD regulations.Valid Driver's License requiredResponsibilitiesDirectly supervise Residential RN's in assigned clusterProvide direct Residential RN coverage to the assigned base residenceFunction as a coach, collaborator, facilitator and support system for Residential NursesCollaborate with RN Educator to ensure AMAP training, certification and supervision of AMAP's within assigned cluster; complete AMAP Certifications as neededCollaborate with RN Education to develop specialized medical training, including medical guidelines and procedures; ensure a PCP approach to trainings and guidelines; ensure all program staff receives adequate medical training; support Residential Nurses with additional training needs (i.e.: AMAP practicums, PEG tube training, etc.)Provide orientation training of newly hired nurses, as assignedFunction as the Residential RN for RN vacancies or leave of absences in assigned clusterEnsure medical department regulatory compliance by oversight of treatment and documentation; monitor compliance of medical systems within assigned clusterFunction as hospital discharge planner for hospitalized individuals in assigned cluster; initiate Surgical Review Committee (if indicated), conduct ongoing collaboration with hospital personnel, visit hospitalized individuals regularly, and assist RN's with discharge training of all staffWork closely with agency QA team to ensure a functional, effective QA system and ensure regulatory compliance and successful DQA audit outcomesRespond to emergency situations via telephone triage 24 hour, Monday - Friday on call statusProvide weekend admin coverage on weekends one time a month Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
