Summary Position Highlights: Under the broad direction of the Radiologist, Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor and the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the Radiology Technologist shall perform radiographic examinations on selected portions of the anatomy. The technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain diagnostic images as requested by the clinician on patients in the following age groups: adolescence 12-18 years, adults 19-64 years, aging adults 66 and over. Must be able to work weekends, varied hours, scheduled and "ON CALL" hours, as appropriate. Responsibilities: * Must demonstrate knowledge of all Radiology principles and imaging techniques as they apply to the daily operation of the department. * Awareness of radiation safety policies as they relate to the operation of equipment and protection of the patient. * Understand the process of computer radiology, the quality assurance station, image processing, archiving, and sending images to the PACS stations. * Must take the initiative to identify and solve problems. * Gather complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to patients and ensure completion all forms. Credentials and Qualifications: * High School Diploma * Florida license as a Radiographer (CRT) Required * ARRT (RT) certification required. * Current BLS required * Competency in all aspects of radiology, patient positioning, exposure factors and radiation protection * Must have understanding of anatomy and pathology as to how they affect quality of a procedure. * Must be able to work weekends, varied hours, scheduled and "On Call" hours.
