QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's Degree, required * Valid License in School Psychology * Pass a criminal history check ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The school psychologist will be responsible for conducting psychoeducational evaluations on students referred in compliance with federal and state laws. The school psychologist will be actively involved with school personnel in addressing the needs of all students. The school psychologist will monitor special education programs in their assigned buildings, attend case conferences, and work collaboratively to meet the needs of students. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Conducts diagnostic evaluations to identify students' needs, potential, and limitations by: * Observing in classrooms and/or in social situations * Reviewing all pertinent school records * Consulting with parents and school personnel * Administering diagnostic instruments * Interpreting assessment data * Collaborating with school staff on the development and writing of the IEP. * Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team for students undergoing an evaluation and coordinates resources to assure a comprehensive educational evaluation is completed. * Participates on the intervention team(s) for at-risk students considered for an evaluation. * Provides diagnostic information to assist pupils to achieve academic, social, and emotional growth. * Utilizes research to aid in identifying appropriate techniques and services to meet student needs. * Conducts reevaluations for children eligible for special education services. * Provides ongoing professional development for school and community when requested. * Serves as consultant to school principals, parents, and teachers in matters involving psychological services in the school and community. * Completes all education reports and paperwork accurately according to regulations and procedures within the required time line. * Collaborates with school personnel on Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as needed. * Completes record reviews for out-of-state, move-in special education students: * Reviews IEP and psycho-educational evaluation(s) * Establishes eligibility for the State of Indiana and suggests appropriate special education services * Serves as a resource and makes recommendations to school personnel pertaining to: * The management of pupils in the school environment * Educational adjustments to meet the needs of children * Services of children in special education * Collaborates in the evaluation of academic and behavioral management programs using data to recommend interventions * Follows and informs others of IDEA and Article 7 rules and regulations as well as GRIC Policies and Procedures. * Attends all GRIC diagnostic and district staff meetings, as required. * Performs other duties as assigned by the Director or their designee.
